- Promotional products
are highly targetable, (less wastage)
- They can be placed
and seen in many spots: eg. home, office, car or pocket.
- They have a warmth.
- They are a form
of advertising that customers will thank you for.
- They create goodwill
and are remembered long after other forms of advertising are
forgotten.
- They reinforce relationships.
The cost per exposure
diminishes over time.
For a successful campaign,
the Australian Promotional Products Association ( A.P.P.A. ) suggests
the following recommendations:
- Develop strategies
to incorporate a promotional product relating to achievement
of specific marketing goals.
- Choose a product
that will appeal to target group.
- Choose artwork
that both conveys the campaign message and can be reproduced
on the chosen product.
- Incorporate
distribution plans: who is to receive them, and how they’ll
receive them.
- Invite recipient
to respond and build a database.
- Always follow up.
- Allocate adequate
time to produce the promotional product.
- Avoid choosing
a product by basing decisions on price alone. You run the risk
of increasing cost per exposure of the message, if it is not
suitable for the target group.
- Always deal with
an A.P.P.A. member.
